Ikorodu City put on another entertaining show at home, securing all three points with a 4-2 win over Lobi Stars in their matchday 8 clash of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League season.

Still under the guidance of assistant coaches Nurudeen Aweroro, Ali Kandil, Bello Adebayo and Sheriff Salami, the team continued their unbeaten run in style.

LINEUP: Aina Oluwadamilare; Waliu Ojetoye, Harrison Uzondu, Chibuike Oheagbulam, Leonard Ngenge; Kelechi Onwe, Tosin Oyedokun, Salau Yusuf; Emmanuel Solomon, Adelani Shola & Solomon Alade.

Oga Boys got off to a flying start, scoring in just the 2nd minute through a sleek sequence of passes which saw Shola Adelani pick out Waliu Ojetoye on the byline, whose pinpoint cross found Salau Yusuf for his first NPFL goal, giving us an early lead.

Ikorodu City doubled their advantage in the 19th minute, as Emmanuel Solomon curled in a well-placed pass from an Austin Harrison corner, marking his first goal in the NPFL as well.

The team looked comfortable, but an injury to midfielder Kelechi Onwe in the 40th minute disrupted their rhythm. Lobi Stars took advantage and scored twice in stoppage time through forward Ifeanyi Assurance in the 45+5 and 45+7 minute to level the game 2-2 just before halftime, stunning the home crowd.

The second half saw changes, with Rivio Ayemwenre and Shodeinde Moses coming on to replace Emmanuel Solomon and Tosin Oyedokun, adding more bite to the attack. The tactical switch paid off in the 56th minute when Alade Solomon rose to head home a fantastic cross from Austin, putting Ikorodu City back in front and reigniting our home fans.

Just two minutes later, substitute Rivio Ayemiwenre added to the excitement, curling a beautiful shot into the net after another assist from Austin, his third of the match and season as we held on to a comfortably 4-2 victory at home.
