Head coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Eric Chelle, has named five Ikorodu City FC players in the 35-man provisional squad for the 2024 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) holding in August 2025.

After what was an outstanding debut season in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) 2024/2025 season, the standout players from the squad have gotten the nod from the national team echelons to represent the country.

Leading the list is Captain & right back Waliu Ojetoye as well as left back Harrison Austin as both players led the list of assists last season in the league despite being full backs.

Also invited was Shola Adelani who finished as the club’s top scorer in the league with twelve goals and also had two assists to his credit. Next on the scorers chart was Ayomide Cole who scored nine goals and had two assists with all of those goals coming from the bench.

Young centre back, Leonard Ngenge is the fifth player from the squad to have been named in the list. Leo made twenty-six league appearance in what was his first ever topflight season as a teenager, starting twenty-four times, coming off the bench twice and finishing with one goal, one assist and two man of the match awards.

Everyone at Ikorodu City wishes the quintet all the best in the camp ahead of the tourney.
