The resumption of the Nigeria National League 2022 season after a very long break saw us host neighbors, Vandrezzer FC in a very important tie that could decide a lot in relegation battle.
The previous meeting between the two sides ended in a 1-1 draw and coach Obafemi had the services of new men Paul Ogunkoya and Michael to make something different happen.

The first half started slowly with both teams making no significant impact but the visitors trying to break Ikorodu City on the counter.
The counter eventually paid off when we lost possession in the opponents half, with only two players behind, Vandrezzer finished a swift counter move with a goal on second attempt after John made a first good save.
The first half produced another goal and thus time, it was the OgaBoys pulling level thanks a a fantastic goal from youngster Salami Farouk as we went into the break level.
The second half started same way the first did. The appointment of Coach Olanrewaju (Yema) as head coach of Vandrezzer FC has see them pick positive results and this time, they went a tad lower as a player received the marching orders as he was shown a red card.
Ikorodu City however couldn’t make use of the extra man, putting everything forward but unable to break the back line of the Lions of Naija as it ended 1-1 after full time.
For the next and last game of the season, Ikorodu City will go all the way to Enugu to face Giant Brillars FC.
