Thirty-six games down, two more to go and we currently sit in a very interesting spot on the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) 2024/24 season table, in our debut season as well, it has to be said.
The club media sat down with team captain Waliu Ojetoye, to discuss the season so far and look ahead to the last two games of the league season.

“We’ve had a very good season so far, fighting relegation in the first round and now we’re fighting for a spot on the continent. It’s been a wonderful season for us,” the captain said.
Interesting to note is that after the first five games of the season, the team had no wins under their belt, lost 4 (2 home and 2 away), pick a point against Kwara United away in a goalless draw, managed to score just a single goal in that run, coming in our 1-2 home defeat against Nasarawa United and sat very comfortably at the bottom of the NPFL table with one point from a possible fifteen and a negative six goal difference.
However, thirty-one games after that, the team currently sits in fourth position on the table on 56 points, one point behind third placed Abia Warriors but with a way superior goal difference of positive seventeen to positive three of the Warriors from Abia. A chance to play on the continent is still well in the balance and the team faces the already sealed champions of the league season, Remo Stars in a very crucial game and this is what the skipper has to say about our chance against them.
“We know how important the game against Remo is. We have to go all out to show character and determination and I’m positive that at the end of the game, we will get a good result,” he said.

Two games to go, a chance to play on the continent via the league on our hands and one would feel there’s pressure to get the right results in the last two games against Remo Stars and fellow continental chaser, Abia Warriors on the last day
“The team is not under any pressure. We will play the same way we’ve been playing with good character and the right mentality. But pressure, none,” Waliu concluded.
The team faces Remo Stars in the penultimate league game of the season on Sunday, 11th May 2025 by 3pm at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
