The start to the game was balanced as both teams tried to edge each other out. A few chances were carved out with James Faith being pivotal in goal for us.

James was put to the test in the 41st minute as he denied an attempt from Emo James off a cross. Before the half ran out, James was on hand to deny Rabiu Abdullahi and Wisdom Magbia to keep the scores goalless going into the break.

The second half grew to life quickly as the home side increased the pressure in search of a goal. Ayomide Cole came close to opening the scoring for us but his effort was wide.

The host eventually got the opener in the 79th minute Rabiu Adbullahi took advantage of a defensive mix up to put Bayelsa United in front off a cross.

Rivio Ayemwenre was denied a good opportunity courtesy a fine save from the goalkeeper as we fell to a 1-0 defeat.
