After what feels like forever, the excitement is back! You, our incredible fans, who have always stood by us, will finally return to the Arena as we host Kwara United on Matchday 23 of the NPFL tomorrow. As our backbone and unwavering support, we can’t wait to have you with us. The players are ready to give their all to bring joy on this special day with you the fans.
Our last away game against the champions, Rangers, didn’t go as planned, but we’re eager to bounce back immediately. As we host Kwara United—the team we earned our first-ever NPFL point against—we know how much your support means. Your backing will go a long way in pushing the team forward!
The Reverse Fixture in Kwara
We had just taken a tough loss against Kano Pillars in Katsina and had to hit the road again to Kwara. There were doubts about whether we could bounce back, but the players showed incredible resilience, fought hard, and secured our first-ever NPFL point. Looking back at that moment and seeing how much we’ve grown, the progress is undeniable. Now, it’s time to take the next step—this time, we’re going for all three points.
Team News
In team news, Emmanuel Solomon, Rivio Ayemwenre and Salau Yusuf will miss the action due to family and personal engagements. New signing Victor Ejukah is out with an injury. Centre back Uzochukwu Okekeaniokete will also miss the game. Other players are available for selection.
What to expect from the Opposition
On their day, Kwara United can be a tough and disciplined side. Currently sitting 10th on the log, they’ve shown they have the ability to trouble teams. However, their recent away form gives us every reason to be confident. The last time they picked up a point on the road was a 1-0 win against Nasarawa United on November 10, 2024. Since then, they’ve lost all five of their away games. While that record favors us, we can’t afford to be complacent—especially against a team we denied a home win. They’ll be eager to return the favor, but we’re ready to make sure that doesn’t happen.
