With the season running to an end, we needed a point to keep the hopes of a continental football via the league alive and we visited next-door neighbors and already confirmed league champions Remo Stars.
LINEUP: Faith James; Waliu Ojetoye, Harrison Uzondu, Chibuike Oheagbulam, Leonard Ngenge; Onwe Kelechi, Salawu Yusuf, Tosin Oyedokun; Emmanuel Solomon, Adelani Shola, Chineme Chinonso.
With the stadium filled beyond capacity with fans waiting to watch the home side crowned champions after the game, we stunned the crowd, taking the lead right on the quarter of an hour with Tosin hitting one from range past Obassa in goal.
The home side however did respond with two quick fire goals in five minutes just as the first half was running to a close as we went into the break behind.
The second half felt a bit more jaded for the lads as we struggled to create top chances up front and creating spaces the home side took advantage of. Two minutes after the restart, Remo Stars scored their third goal and in the 68th minute, they got a fourth to put the game beyond doubt.
