A fourth league match, a fourth without a win and consecutive defeats at home is what the club has now suffered after the 1-2 loss to Nasarawa United and head coach Bright Ozebagbe speaks on the result.

“It’s sad. It wasn’t what we envisaged or planned for. It’s sad that our performances in the past games don’t reflect the result, how well we create chances but fail to convert, how we switch off in moments that cost us to concede,” Bright stated.

Speaking on the changes to the match day squad which included a first start for goal scorer Chilaka Thankgod, Bright is expectant that the striker becomes fully fit for the team.

“He’s been down and trying to get to full fitness. He did well during preseason and we’re hoping he recovers well and comes good for the team.”

A few changes were made coming back from the break after the team drew level just before the half time whistle and Bright explains why.

“We needed to close down the left hand channel when we were out of possession and open up offensively. We noticed the opponents were playing through the channels to get to the box so we had to close down that side because we were doing better on the right.”

On the next game, “we are focused on trying to get a good result”, Bright said.

“We’re going to work very hard. We have to fight but it’s not going to be easy. This is football, we have to stay positive and see how best we can take the fight to Jos.”
