We are back! Back home, back at the Arena. The place that crackles with noise, with frenzy, with that bond only football can create. The place where memories live.
Tomorrow, when we walk out to face El Kanemi Warriors at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, it will mark 99 days since we closed out a historic first season in the top flight, sealed with that 3-2 victory over Abia Warriors. A night that summed up everything about us, the fight, the resilience, the refusal to fade.
Now the new season is here. It began with a hard-earned point away at Kwara United on matchday one. A solid start. But tomorrow, back in front of you, our own fans, the aim is simple, raise it higher and go for the win.
Facing El Kanemi Warriors
Tomorrow we host El Kanemi Warriors , a side that clung to safety by just a single point last season. In our two meetings with them, we took four from six: a win here at the Arena and a draw away. That draw could easily have been more, had focus held to the very end.
But last season is gone. This is fresh ground. They have started well, a win on matchday one has them sitting top of the table, and they will want to build on it. That’s their concern. Ours is simple: do our job, do it better, and make sure the whole points stay at the Arena.
Team News
Moses Shodeinde is back from injury and available. Austin Uzondu and Shola Adelani have rejoined the squad after national team duty and could feature.
Ayomide Cole and James Faith are still out.
The Power of The Arena
Only two teams had a better home record than us last season, the champions, Remo Stars, and second-placed Rivers United. That says plenty on its own. Both our defeats here came in the first five games. After that? Fifteen wins, one draw, and that draw was against the champions.
We scored 48 goals at home, more than anyone else. The closest was Remo Stars, with 33. Numbers like that tell their own story. This place, the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, does something to us. The noise, the energy, the feeling. It’s extra different here.
We know what home means, and we will make it count again, starting tomorrow
Bring the Noise to the Arena
It’s the first home game of the season. Come all out, not just tomorrow, but every time. Starting tomorrow, let’s fill the stands, let’s light up the Arena, let’s begin creating the beautiful memories this season will hold.
Tickets sales have been suspended for this game as a welcome gesture to you our dear fans so let’s fill the Arena and show the visitors why this is a fortress.
