Our first home game of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season ended in a goalless draw against El Kanemi Warriors.
The visitors came in high spirits from their home win while we were fresh off the back of a point on the road in our opening fixture against Kwara United.

Just one change to the side by Ali Kandil, Shola Adelani joined the fold back after his time with the CHAN Eagles in Tanzania to boost the confidence of the team, receiving the 2024/2025 54footballx Player of The Season award just before kickoff.
Both team pushed each other from end to end in the opening half that barely saw any chances with the game coming to life in the second half after some substitutions. Ikorodu City pressed and El Kanemi Warriors stayed strong defensively as Dada Oladimeji came closest, cutting in onto his left from the right and hitting a shot that went past the goalkeeper but hit the upright as the game came to an end.
