October was a month where we faced challenges and emerged with hard-earned lessons, exciting victories and sights of a promising future. From intense away battles to commanding performances at home, we showed resolve, growth and hunger. Here’s how October unfolded for us.

A Tough Start: Plateau United 1-0 Ikorodu City

The month kicked off with a challenging away match against Plateau United. Despite a determined performance, we fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat. It was a game defined by our hardiness in defense but also a reminder of the fine margins that separate victory from defeat.

Leaving Jos without points was tough, but it equipped us for the challenges ahead and pointed to the work needed to thrive at this level.

Redemption at Home: Ikorodu City 3-0 Bendel Insurance

Back on home soil, we turned the page in style. A commanding 3-0 win over Bendel Insurance showcased our best, with fluid attacks, resolute defending, and unwavering support from our fans. Rivio Ayemwenre opened the scoring just after halftime, heading home Waliu Ojetoye’s pinpoint cross. The momentum kept rolling as Kelechi Onwe doubled the lead and Toyeeb Ajeyigbe sealed the win in the 62nd minute. This assertive win not only gave us our first clean sheet of the month but reminded everyone that we can be a force to be reckoned with.

Holding Strong on the Road: Heartland 1-1 Ikorodu City

Away games are never easy, but our trip to Heartland proved our firm determination. Salau Yusuf’s header forced an own goal in the 5th minute, giving us an early edge. Although Heartland eventually equalized, we were defensively strong, and that helped us earn a valuable point. This result highlighted our adaptability and showed that, even in tough environments, we are a team that fights for every inch.

A Statement Win: Ikorodu City 4-2 Lobi Stars

In what was arguably our most breathtaking game of the month, we overpowered Lobi Stars in a 4-2 home victory. Salau Yusuf struck in the second minute, firing up the home crowd with an assist from Waliu Ojetoye. Emmanuel Solomon and Alade Solomon each found the net, and Rivio Ayemwenre capped the scoreline in a match where Harrison Austin shone as a playmaker with three assists.

This delightful performance was a celebration of teamwork, energy, and attacking knack, proving that our team can compete with and outplay some of the league’s best.

Late Drama in Aba: Enyimba 2-1 Ikorodu City

We closed out October with a spirited but narrow 2-1 defeat against Enyimba on the road. Despite going down early, we fought until the end, with Toyeeb Ajeyigbe pulling one back in the 89th minute, assisted by Chineme Chinonso. The late goal showed our never-say-die attitude, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to secure a point. While this result stung, it also highlighted the progress we’ve made and the determination we carry with us in every match.

October Overview: Progress and Growing Confidence

In October, we recorded two wins, one draw, and two losses, resulting in a mixed bag of results. However, every match contributed to our growth and provided valuable lessons. We scored nine goals, while conceding six, thanks to contributions from players like Rivio Ayemwenre, who showcased sharp finishing, Salau Yusuf and Toyeeb Ajeyigbe’s consistency, and Harrison Austin and Waliu Ojetoye’s creativity.

Our home games highlighted our attacking strength, while our away matches pointed out areas for improvement. This month helped us establish our identity as a team filled with heart and determination, along with a developing edge in our attack.
