A resounding 5-0 victory over Magic Stars FC has seen Ikorodu City move into the semi final of the Lagos State FA Cup as the team looks to retain its status as the reigning champion of Lagos State.
Both sides faced off previously in 2022 in the Lagos State FA Cup two seasons ago with Ikorodu City winning 2-1 to progress and two years later, the result wasn’t in doubt.
A rampant first half from the boys saw us out four past Magic Stars. Tosin Oyedokun from the spot, captain Ojetoye Waliu, Sulaimon Babatunde and a tap in from Ayomide Cole made the first 45minutes one to savor.
With the defender looking to turn a pass from Toyeeb Gidado towards his goalkeeper, he ended up turning into his own left as Ikorodu City finished with five goals on the day.
The result means Ikorodu City now faces First Bank FC in the 2024 Lagos State FA Cup semi final on Thursday 28yh March, 2024 with kickoff at 3:00pm.
