Matchday four of the Nigeria National League (NNL) 23/24 season sees Ikorodu City face Inter Lagos in a Lagos derby showdown at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.
Fresh from the 2-0 win over FC ONE Rocket at the same venue, the OgaBoys face a NNL a newcomers, a very much wounded side who are without a win in their opening three games of the league season after losing twice on the road and once at home.
MATCH FACTS
This is the first ever meeting between Ikorodu City and Inter Lagos who are just months old as a football club. However, they are not the first Lagos based club that we would be facing in the NNL.
In our first NNL season, 2021/22 season, we occupied the same group with Vandrezzer FC then based in Lagos, with both games ending in a 1-1 draw with Salami Farouk and Paul Ogunkoya with the goals, one in each leg.
The next season saw us grouped with the NLO Champions, Madiba FC of Oshodi with Ikorodu City losing both legs 2-1 and 1-0, Tosin Oyedokun our only Goalscorer from a freekick.
KEY PLAYERS
Tosin Oyedokun will continue to be a force to reckon with in the midfield. The skipper sealed our win over FC ONE Rocket with a beautiful and calm finish.
Salami Farouk is another player that will cause problems for the visiting side. He opened the scoring from the spot against FC ONE Rocket before providing the assist for the second goal.
