In an exciting match at the Arena, Ikorodu City FC showcased their prowess against Solution FC, securing a convincing 3-1 victory in their match day 15 game of the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL) 2024 season.

The match began with both teams displaying determination, but it was Ikorodu City FC who made the early attacking moves. At the 2nd minute mark, Oyedokun Tosin won a free kick, setting the tone for Oga Boy’s offensive intentions. However, Solution FC’s defenders thwarted their initial attempts.

Ikorodu City FC persisted, and in the 12th minute, Aderigigbe Paul broke the deadlock with a header, courtesy of an excellent assist from Ojetoye Waliu’s precise cross. Just two minutes later, Oga Boys doubled their lead with a remarkable curler from Harrison, showcasing his skill with his weaker foot.

Throughout the first half, Ikorodu City FC maintained dominance, with efforts from Harrison and Waliu threatening Solution FC’s defense. However, the visiting team managed to hold on as the first half ended 2-0 in favor of Ikorodu City.

The second half saw Solution FC stepping up their game, applying pressure on Ikorodu City FC’s defense. In the 64th minute, their efforts paid off as they capitalized on a free kick, narrowing the scoreline to 2-1.

Sensing the shift in momentum, Coach Bright of Ikorodu City FC made tactical substitutions, injecting fresh energy into the team. Sulaimon, Gidado, and Odia were brought in to stabilize the game and maintain Oga Boy’s lead.

The substitutions proved effective as Shola extended Ikorodu City FC’s lead in the 76th minute with a well-timed header, sealing a 3-1 victory for the home side and capping off a performance that earned him the Betking Man of the Match award.

With this emphatic win, Ikorodu City FC move to the top of the NNL24 Conference B standings and attention now shifts to match day 16 in Delta, taking on Warri Wolves, in their quest to secure a spot in the qualification playoffs.
