Ikorodu City Football Club headed to Minna for their match day 13 encounter in the Nigeria Premier Football League 2024/2025 season looking to continue their good run of form in November that has seen them with 3 wins out of 3.

After an intense 90 minutes of football, the games ended goalless as we took a point back to Lagos, maintaining an unbeaten slate for the month so far.

With only two changes to the line up from Nurudeen Aweroro, Marvelous Freedom replaced Leonard Ngenge who wasn’t available for the trip, Salau Yusuf missed the game after picking a knock in the previous game while the attacking trio of the Solomon’s and Shola remained.

It was quite a nervy start for the Oga Boys who struggled to settle on the playing surface in Minna after the long trip and the lads needed rescuing from their goalkeeper after a point blank header from Tornadoes was saved by the keeper.

In the very harsh North Central weather, Alade Solomon and Emmanuel Solomon tried to be a menace in front, forcing the defenders back but it was James who had to step up and make two even more brilliant stops to keep the game level at half time.

It was more composure from Ikorodu City in the second half, keeping the ball and moving as a unit. Waliu Ojetoye began his charade on the right-hand side, bursting down with pace and sending a cross that was headed just wide but Abdulmalik. Soon after, Alade was the man trying an effort that sailed wide.

With the latter stages of the game approaching, the home side fueled by the home support threw everything at us with the final 10 minutes being played in our half with series of freekicks and corner kicks but with a strong defending and goalkeeping, the lads were able to see it out and leave Minna with a point.

As the festive season approaches, it’s more fixtures for the guys as the lads return to face El Kanemi Warriors in the midweek on Wednesday, 27th November 2024 and then Akwa United few days later, with both games being at home in Onikan.
